Well, we are getting close to the end of the first month of 2010. I know many of you are in the beginning stages of keeping your New Year Resolutions by getting in shape and eating better and maybe even getting on a crash diet.

Of course, doing all this can provide some success for you and it may just be the impetus and the jump start you need in getting you on the right track to complete healthiness !!

But I will have to tell you from my experience long term Success in keeping in shape and staying lean and slim is based on a long term change in your Lifestyle and Mindset !!

This is just pretty much fact !! Now there is nothing wrong with finding a diet to start out on to quickly lose a few pounds in a short period of time. So long as you realize that it is only a tip toe in the right direction. However, you must then commit yourself to a long term way of Life that involves being smart in what you eat and how you eat as well as keeping a regular exercise regimen that you can do every week for many years.

You ever see that old cartoon where the tortoise and the rabbit race each other in a marathon ? Well, the rabbit starts out fast and is miles ahead of the tortoise. But he is unable to keep such a fast pace so eventually the tortoise catches up and wins the race. Well, you need to be like the tortoise in your own life and realize that staying healthy and eating right and exercising is a long term endeavour. And you will only see real results after a period of time. So keep a steady pace just like that tortoise did !! ;)

I also think that applying Visualization into your mode of thinking can go along way in your efforts to lose weight and stay healthy. Everyday you need to take a step back , close your eyes and Visualize where you want to be in a few months and a few years and what you need to do to get there. Do this on a regular basis. Actually, come up with a picture of the body you want and re enforce that everyday by doing little things that will put you on track to achieving it. Ab example would be instead of snacking on a piece of pizza in midday why dont you carry around an Apple that you can much on. Or instead of taking your car to the store down the block just walk to it.

Do things like this on a continual basis and eventually it will become second nature and it will become a permanent part of your life and spirit. !! :)
